DCC4D's mission is a complete and total ban of drag performances in Owensboro, including at 21+ establishments.
Drag bans not only diminish much needed visibility for the LGBT+ community, they pose very real risks to trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming individuals. The vague language included in these bans allow police and public officials to interpret them as needed to target individuals and businesses.
When implemented, these laws target businesses and organizations with financial consequences. Raids and revocation of liquor licenses ruin businesses and organizations that serve the LGBT+ community. Individuals who present themselves outside conservative gender ideals are at risk of harassment and violence from their own community leaders, law enforcement, and elected officials.
If individual drag performers would like to be listed on this site, please let us know by using the Contact Us page.
